Momijidani Park on Miyajima, one of Japan’s three most scenic views, is beloved as a famous autumn foliage spot, as its name suggests. The park features about 700 maple and Japanese maple trees, where visitors can enjoy spectacular views of vermillion-colored trees harmonizing with the red torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine.

Going early in the morning is recommended as there are fewer people. There’s a stream in the park, so eating fried maple leaf cakes while viewing foliage by the stream feels wonderful! Hiking Mt. Misen while viewing pre-peak foliage is also recommended!
