Visit Hiroshima to explore the World Heritage Site “Atomic Bomb Dome,” the “Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum” which conveys the reality of atomic bomb damage, and Miyajima Island. On the second day, enjoy island sightseeing and interacting with rabbits on “Okunoshima,” also famous as Rabbit Island.

Hiroshima Peace Park → Miyajima → Overnight in Hiroshima City

World Heritage Site – Atomic Bomb Dome (20 minutes)
Transportation: 10 minutes on foot
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum (60 minutes)
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum collects and displays personal belongings of atomic bomb victims, photographs and materials showing the devastation of the bombing, and introduces Hiroshima’s journey before and after the bombing as well as the situation in the nuclear age.
Transportation: 15 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by streetcar
Lunch at Okonomi-mura
A building housing about 20 okonomiyaki restaurants on floors 2-4. You’re sure to find your favorite okonomiyaki here!

World Heritage Site – Itsukushima Shrine (60 minutes)
Omotesando Shopping Street Stroll (60 minutes)
The main street where you can enjoy Miyajima specialties and souvenir shopping. This approximately 350-meter shopping street leads to Itsukushima Shrine and is always bustling with tourists.

Historical Background
Wartime History – Poison Gas Manufacturing Island: From 1929 to 1945, the former Japanese military established a poison gas manufacturing facility – Secret Island: Known as “the island that disappeared from maps” – Products: Hydrogen cyanide gas, Lewisite, Yperite, and others
Post-war Transformation 1945: Factory closure with the end of the war, beginning of poison gas disposal 1963: Opened as a National Vacation Village Present: Utilized as a place for peace education
Present-day Okunoshima
Famous as Rabbit Island – Wild Rabbits: Approximately 600 rabbits inhabit the island – Tourist Destination: Visited by tourists from Japan and abroad as “Rabbit Island” – Feeding Experience: Interacting with rabbits is popular
Main Facilities and Attractions – Kyukamura Okunoshima: Accommodation and hot spring facilities – Observatory: 360-degree panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea – Okunoshima Poison Gas Museum: Learn about wartime history – Power Plant Ruins: Remains of the facility that supplied electricity to the poison gas factory – Nagaura Poison Gas Storage Ruins: The largest storage facility on the island

Nearest Station: 5-minute walk from JR Kure Line Tadanoumi Station to Tadanoumi Port Ferry Service: Tadanoumi Port ⇔ Okunoshima Pier (operates approximately every 15 minutes) Accommodation: Kyukamura Okunoshima (the only accommodation facility on the island) Day Trip: Possible (pay attention to the last ferry)
