Visit Hiroshima’s two World Heritage Sites – the “Atomic Bomb Dome” and “Itsukushima Shrine,” along with the “Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum” that conveys the reality of atomic bomb damage, and the “Orizuru Tower” offering panoramic views of Hiroshima city. On the second day, extend your journey to Yamaguchi Prefecture to visit “Kintaikyo Bridge,” one of Japan’s three most famous bridges.

Hiroshima Castle (60 minutes)

World Heritage Site: Atomic Bomb Dome (20 minutes)

A building damaged by the nuclear weapon used for the first time in human history at the end of World War II. The Atomic Bomb Dome, preserved in its original state, serves as a testament to the devastation of nuclear weapons and continues to advocate for nuclear disarmament and lasting world peace across generations.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum (60 minutes)

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum collects and displays belongings of atomic bomb victims, photographs and materials showing the devastation, while introducing Hiroshima’s journey before and after the bombing and the situation in the nuclear age.

Lunch: Okonomi-mura

A building housing about 20 okonomiyaki restaurants on floors 2-4. You’re sure to find okonomiyaki to your taste!

Orizuru Tower (30 minutes)

A facility located next to the Atomic Bomb Dome. From the wooden deck observation platform, you can see as far as Mt. Misen on Miyajima on clear days. With souvenir shops and cafes, it’s perfect for a break.

Omotesando Shopping Street Stroll (60 minutes)

The main street where you can enjoy Miyajima specialties and souvenir shopping. This approximately 350m shopping street leads to Itsukushima Shrine and is always bustling with tourists.

Kintaikyo Bridge
A beautiful wooden bridge with five consecutive arches, counted among Japan’s three most famous bridges. You can enjoy different scenic views each season.

Kikko Park
A historical park developed from the former residence of the Iwakuni feudal lord. Opened to the public as a park in the Meiji era, it serves as a place of relaxation for citizens.

Iwakuni Castle
A mountain castle accessible by ropeway. From the castle’s observation deck at the summit, you can enjoy spectacular views of Kintaikyo Bridge and Iwakuni’s castle town below. On clear days, you can see the islands of the Seto Inland Sea and even Miyajima.
